Max grew up in Thomasville, North Carolina, where he admired the attorneys in his hometown for their commitment to serving their communities with integrity, professionalism, and compassion. Those early role models inspired him to pursue a legal career centered on helping others.

Although his legal career began handling real estate matters and court-appointed criminal cases, he soon discovered that family law offered a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on people’s lives.

Outside the practice of law, Max enjoys spending time with his wife and young son, participating in church activities, traveling, running, swimming, strength training, and cycling whenever he has the opportunity.

He is also an active member of his local Kiwanis Club and enjoys giving back to his community through service.

If he had chosen a different profession, Max believes he would have become a history professor, combining his love of learning with his passion for helping others understand the past.

One of the pieces of advice that has guided him throughout life came from his father:

“If you are trying to do about right, things seem to work out for the best.”

He also finds inspiration in Joshua 1:9:

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
